On September 10, 2010 The Edmunds Law Firm achieved a huge favorable decision in a family law case. The issues that were presented to the court involved omitted assets from a divorce that occurred nearly two years prior. The omitted assets which were in the possession of the husband, the opposing party, involved several thousands of dollars. Other issues that were litigated included spousal support and the allocation of other financial assets.
The case was a difficult case because of the passage of time that had created questions in the court’s mind about the request from the wife to take jurisdiction over the omitted asset and divide it amongst the parties. The Edmunds Law Firm’s presentation in argument as well as through pleadings was persuasive and the court ordered the husband to pay his ex-wife 50% of the value of the assets that were not previously adjudicated. In addition, the client received a tremendous increase in support and the request for arrears on the new support order was granted.
